Great value for a T10 sword and excellent customer service! Good beginner sword. Perfect sword for display. You can see the quality on the blade, and the balance is perfect. It is sharp, great quality, and a perfect replica. This Katana is much better than described; balanced, very sharp, handle is well made much more than decoration, the wood scabbard is VERY well finished - same quality as the blade. It's sharp, solid, and an overall good quality sword. The people who made it certainly knew what they were doing and I am amazed it is offered at such an affordable price. What would be really useful, for shopping, would be to have a link to specifically select "warehouse deals" to be able to browse everything that is available in the warehouse deals department. The blade fits tightly in the scabbard, no rattle, the fittings appear to be a non-magnetic alloy (blackened brass, perhaps), but everything from the sword collar and hand guard down through the handle is solid, maybe a touch overbuilt as far as thickness, but the fullers, or grooves (which are also well carved/executed), help its balance and make it sing. Great quality, good weight and balance.
The employees were surprised by the weight and sturdy feel of the swords. The polish is satin and plain, good for hiding scratches from fibrous cutting media, and the long tip is counterpolished. Look for the authentic Musashi stamp or Smith signature on the tang. Full tang. Better than those cheap swords sold on KBud. Also unlike most samural swords it's not beautifully tied/wrapped around the sword. I saw swords similar to this without the added cleaning kit starting at $550. Wasn't expecting much at this price point but the katana delivered was very nice, pommel, tsuba, wrapping all very tight, the blade looked gorgeous as well as functional, way more sword than I need at my skill level (which is zero). The handle wrapping is done in the proper alternating pattern, something all to rare in budget katana-style swords; the scabbard also has an alloy end cap, reinforcing the 'yanone' or arrowhead theme of the sword's fittings. 해외선물 and handle are in good proportion.
Sharpens easily and holds an edge. Edge? Was like a knife through butter to a cardboard box and didnt knock it over. At this time I have it displayed in my living room and it looks great! Well my nephew loves it, but I'm not sure if my sister and brother-in-law have the same feelings. My boy loves it and will have it for a long time. This was an anniversary gift for my wife and she loves it! I bought one of these to give as a gift, and then bought another to keep for myself. Thes Katanas were purchased as gifts for employees and were very good quality. Cold Steel products are known for their durability and this item keeps that reputation in place. I have no martial arts or swordfighting training, so I am not qualified to offer an opinion on their effectiveness as authentic training items, but I enjoy them quite a bit. As far as a practice sword I have no clue if it is a good one or not, but as a kid's toy it is great.
Love it came to me just as they said it would and by far the sharpest blade I ever got out of box. Blade as far as I can tell is a good quality-more practical than fancy. Overall, a good choice for someone's 'first' or 'only' katana, or as a user/spare/surrogate for a more expensive or cherished blade. The design is very nice and the blade is very sharp. I received more than what I expected and I am very satisfied. What an amazing gift! My only issue with the sword is the claw and the wrapping that's tied to it. The wrapping is a really cheap looking material that appears worn on the edges. From all of the parts that I found this one had the best detailed and unique parts. I was wanted to build a sword when I found this one and just couldn't pass it up. Now I may be mistaken, but this looks just like the Musashi Bamboo Warrior katana.
